SMTP Configuration
Settings
The following describes the settings for Configuration > Network > SMTP Configuration in detail.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
SMTP Server | IP address or FQDN of mail server |
Port to use | TCP Port of mail server, default is 25 |
Sender | Sender address for outgoing mail notifications, e.g. admin@mycompany.com |
Authentication User | Username for authentication on SMTP mail server |
Authentication Password | Corresponding password |
Verifying Mail Settings
You can test the configuration easily.
- Open the Administration Web Interface > Configuration > Templates
- Choose "Service-Problem Notification via Email" or " Host-Problem Notification via Email" and click the test button . An e-mail will be sent immediately to the configured Administrator contact (See Setup > Contacts > Administrator)
Check the log file for debug information, Administration Web Interface > Logs > QMail MTA [qmail.log]
