For creating a new host or editing existing host, proceed as follows:
- Open the Administration Web Interface > Configuration > Setup > Hosts
- Click an existing entry to change it or click “Create new host” to define a new host
The following describes the setting for a contact in detail:

Name | Name of the host Notice: The name shall not contain special characters or spaces. The name must be unambiguous and shall not be assigned twice. |
Alias | Alias name of the host. The alias name is used in the web interface of the SONARPLEX appliance. Notice: The alias name must be unambiguous and shall not be assigned twice. If possible, use the same designation as in the "Name" input box. |
Address/Hostname | IP address or name of the host. |

Check for devices that do not react to a ping (e.g. firewalls). "OK" is always simulated as the result of the check. Notice: This option only works for WatchGuard firewalls! A standard check for hosts with short response times response time > 3 s => WARNING response time > 5 s => CRITICAL Check for devices that do not react to a ping (e.g. firewalls).
