In contact group you can assign a contact group to a host or service. All members of that contact group then receive a notification in the event of a fault. However, two contact groups are predefined by the system. They cannot be deleted:
- Contact group "admin (defined by system)"
- Contact group "everybody (defined by system)"
For creating a new contact group or editing existing contact groups, proceed as follows:
- Open the Administration Web Interface > Configuration > Setup > Contactgroups
- Click an existing entry to change it or click “Create new contactgroup” to define a new contact group
- Enter the necessary settings and click on to save and apply the changes.
The following describes the setting for a contact group in detail:

Name | Name of the contact group. Do not use special characters or spaces. The name must be unambiguous, shall not be assigned twice and is case sensitive. |
Alias | Alias name of the contact group. The alias name is used in the web interface of the SONARPLEX appliance. The alias name must be unambiguous, shall not be assigned twice and is case sensitive. If possible, use the same designation as in the "Name" input box. |
Membership | Double-click a contact in the "Non-members" selection window to add persons to the contact group or click on it and use the following button Double-click a contact in the "Members" selection window to remove persons from the contact group or click on it and use the following button |
